Nobody Significantly Injured During Live Creche “Incident”

Thankfully no significant injuries took place during last night’s incident at First Presbyterian Church of Sighing Falls’ annual live creche. The creche is usually started at nightfall on the third sunday of Advent in front of the church on Route 16. This year Evan Thomas had an idea to bring live animals from his farm to make the creche more authentic.

Apparently the donkey became startled when the large flood lights turned on for the line up of cars. This knocked over the scenery and felled one large lit Christmas tree. The tree fell into the flood lights starting a small fire. The only real injury reported was to Rev. Gerald Field. He sustained minor burns from trying to grab the second flood light from a fleeing Joseph and Mary.

Due to extensive fire damage the live creche will be cancelled this year.
