Frances Wolverton At The 219th General Assembly

Just a few notes on my impressions of Minneapolis so far. Well it certainly is nothing like Prairie Home Companion which I adore listening to every Sunday after church. I expect that Garrison Keillor hails from another part of Minnesota. I expected a lot of pushy Lutherans, but have been so far unmolested. I do not understand why people are wearing viking horns. Viking horns are on everything in the color purple. Every good church member knows that purple symbolized pentitence and mourning. Have they traded their love of Luther for Thor?

Looking for gifts for my grandchildren has been quite a chore. I had to go to the Dollar Store to find plastic wallets with “Land of 1,000 Lakes!” on it. I remember when those wallets sold for $.25. Oh well, everyone tells me change is good.

I had hoped to visit more of the city but my gout settled in for the day. Epsom salt, hot water and a copy of Parliamentary Digest for me! Hopefully, I can visit some of the booths this afternoon.
