Easter Is Just Around the Corner

First Presbyterian Church of Decawsaw would like to remind you that Easter is just around the corner, their 103 annual Easter in August that is! First has been celebrating Easter in August ever since 1906. No one is still alive to remember why. The session notes from July 1906 state: “Wilmer Overton moves to change Easter to August. Second by Robert Jensen. No discussion. Passed Unanimously.”

“Perhaps it is because my great, grandfather was so fond of bunnies. He had a bunny farm on the plains until the outbreak of 1899.” said family geneologist Sally Overton. “It might have also been because he was not only the richest person in the church, but in the whole state.”

There will be an easter dress compitition at noon and an easter egg hunt following soon afterwards. Please bring your own Baskets.

I love this site. It is kind of like The Onion for Presbyterians! Though, I did find and listen to a wonderful SERIOUS interview from the author of Crazy for God. It really was Spirit filled and incredible to listen to his journey.

However, I have noticed several typos. While I understand that when typing comments and the like there can be misspellings, I think that articles like this for the site should be proofread before submitting. This is the second link, I have clicked on that has had misspellings. It is not “decent nor in order.” πŸ™‚

Our proofreader is on sabbatical πŸ˜‰ Sorry.

A motion properly seconded and passed, in this case unanimously, is hardly of particular notice. Shall Rome have the last word on everything? That seems the way things are moving these days. Why, *TEACHING ELDERS* are now saying they need a “good reason” to preach on any text other than that Romish list they dress up and call the RCL …. note that “RC” are the first letters in that particular reference! I applaud First Presbyterian Church of Decawsaw for the courage of their convictions despite the hurricane, tornados and typhoons of public opinion. Easter in August it is, and yes, *JUST* because the Session says so.
    In sates of Quo,
