The Holy Psalters on Tour

Church Choir

It is that time of year to get your tickets to see The Holy Psalters hosted by First Presbyterian Church of Scottish Pride. The concert will be held at the Masonic lodge on 113 Childress Avenue. The Holy Psalters formed after Henry Pinkstripper was thumbing through the new fangled Blue Hymnal. To his horror he realized that the topical index included the liberal idea of Consummation. To shield his five little boys from harm he ripped the page directly from the hymnal and stuck it in his cardigan’s left pocket. A few days later he was so incensed when he saw it on the kitchen table that he threatened a divorce from Sue. What started as a domestic argument soon turned into a duo, then a quartet and then a full choir. Rejecting the idolatry so inherent in modern hymnody they went back to the earliest Presbyterian singing tradition, three notes and only singing the Psalms. Today they are a most sought after act and have opened for such great acts and The Lewis Brothers, The Tamenny Family and at the Cheeter Valley Picnic for Bryan McFarland. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and childcare will not be provided.

I heard a rumor that they were planning to release an 8-track, but three members were dead set against such idolatry and the project was allowed to die quietly.

  2. pastorofdisaster Says:

I heard it was on reel-to-reel.
